This monograph focuses on the analysis of conceptualizations, dimensions, and teaching strategies linked to the development of communicative competence in secondary school students in Latin America. The research is framed within the literature review method, synthesizing scientific articles indexed between 2020 and 2025 in the Scielo, Redalyc, Dialnet, and Zenodo databases, as well as in specialized journals. The findings highlight that communicative competence goes beyond grammatical mastery to integrate linguistic, sociolinguistic, pragmatic, strategic, and discursive dimensions. Furthermore, evidence shows that strengthening speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills requires moving beyond traditional teaching methods through diversified and contextualized instructional strategies. Prominent strategies include metacognitive mediation, attention to emotional and empathetic factors, the revival of oral communication, critical thinking, and the integration of ICT through project-based learning. It is concluded that teachers must act as dialogue mediators capable of transforming the classroom into a space for reflective interaction, thereby strengthening student autonomy and the practical use of language to face and resolve real-life situations.
