Resumen
Existe una gran preocupación en el mundo académico respecto a cómo los programas de ejercicio y deporte pueden mejorar el desempeño de los estudiantes en distintas áreas académicas. El objetivo de la presente investigación es analizar los alcances conceptuales y perspectivas teóricas de la actividad física y del rendimiento académico. La metodología empleada se basó en la revisión documental y de información obtenida de fuentes confiables como diversas investigaciones, que transitaron por enfoques cuantitativos y cualitativos. Los informes registran la presencia de planteamientos que refrendan que la actividad física, en especial en el ejercicio aeróbico, anaeróbico y actividades individuales como colectivas, se asocian con la optimización considerable en la memoria, concentración sostenida y la reducción de los niveles de estrés. Se puede concluir que la actividad física es una práctica que favorece el desarrollo físico, psicológico y cognitivo lo cual contribuye a mejorar el aprendizaje y el rendimiento académico de los adolescentes.
There is great concern in the academic world regarding how exercise and sports programs can improve student performance in various academic areas. The objective of this research is to analyze the conceptual scope and theoretical perspectives of physical activity and academic performance. The methodology employed was based on a review of documents and information obtained from reliable sources, including various research projects that utilized quantitative and qualitative approaches. The reports record the presence of arguments confirming that physical activity, especially aerobic and anaerobic exercise, and individual and group activities, is associated with significant improvements in memory, sustained concentration, and reduced stress levels. It can be concluded that physical activity is a practice that promotes physical, psychological, and cognitive development, which contributes to improving learning and academic performance in adolescents.
