Mediante una revisión bibliográfica y un análisis de diversas fuentes académicas, se investigaron los fundamentos de la educación ambiental, sus enfoques pedagógicos y la relevancia de su aplicación en la educación inicial. Asimismo, se aborda el papel fundamental del docente como facilitador del aprendizaje ambiental y los retos que enfrenta en su implementación. Se concluye que, la educación ambiental en la primera infancia es importante para el desarrollo de una conciencia ecológica desde edades tempranas, promoviendo valores de sostenibilidad que perduran a lo largo de la vida y favorecen la edificación de un futuro más sustentable.The purpose of this research on environmental education in early childhood was to analyze the importance of integrating environmental education into the early stages of child development, considering its benefits at both the cognitive and emotional levels. Through a literature review and analysis of various academic sources, the foundations of environmental education, its pedagogical approaches, and the relevance of its application in early childhood education were investigated. The fundamental role of teachers as facilitators of environmental learning and the challenges they face in its implementation are also addressed.
