Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación tuvo como objetivo caracterizar el proceso de enseñanza de la resolución de problemas matemáticos en los estudiantes del sexto grado de educación primaria I.E. 16083 Tahuantinsuyo - Colasay- Jaén en el año 2022, habiéndose utilizado como tipo la investigación descriptiva simple.
La población estuvo constituida por 15 estudiantes del sexto grado de educación primaria, una docente, no se seleccionó muestra alguna por ser pequeña la población, es decir se trabajó población igual muestra. Para recoger la información se hicieron grabaciones de sesiones de aprendizaje, una entrevista a la docente y un grupo focal a los alumnos. El procesamiento de la información se realizó utilizando las categorizaciones de los resultados obtenidos tanto en las grabaciones, entrevista como en el grupo focal.
Los resultados obtenidos es que los docentes no utilizan estrategias adecuadas para la resolución de problemas y los alumnos presentan dificultades para solucionar problemas matemáticos.

The population consisted of 15 students in the sixth grade of primary education, a teacher and 14 parents, no sample was selected because the population was small, that is, the same sample population was used. To collect the information, a problem test was applied to be solved by the students, an in-depth interview was carried out for the teacher and a survey was carried out for the parents. The information processing was carried out using the SPS program. The results obtained are that students have not developed the competence to solve mathematical problems, teachers do not use adequate strategies for problem solving and parents do not support educational tasks.
